Battery charging & management
Battery charging
The batteries are supplied at a 30% state of charge and should be fully charged before their first use. The LED indication on the USB chargers may vary depending on the exact model. Please reach out to us if unsure.
When charging LiPo batteries, never leave the charger unattended!
Connect the battery to the charger via the 3-pin balance connector and observe the charger state (you may need to wait a few seconds till the status LEDs update).
Battery management
The Nimble+ drone operates from a 2 cell Lithium Polymer battery. The battery voltage level is around 8.4V when fully charged (4.2V per cell), and should never drop below 3V per cell, otherwise it will get permanently damaged and its capacity will decrease as a result.
We recommend landing before the overal voltage in flight drops below 6.5V (including the voltage sag due to the internal battery resistance). After landing, the battery voltage level should read around 7V. Power the Nimble+ off to prevent further discharge of the battery and charge it as soon as possible.
After approximately 10 minutes without flying, the Nimble+ will start beeping as a precaution. If you wish to keep the Nimble+ powered on, a short throttle command will reset the timer.
Ideal voltage for storage is between 7.6V and 7.8V (3.3V to 3.4V per cell), storing the batteries fully charged or fully discharged will negatively affect their lifetime.
When managed correctly, the battery should keep at least 80% of its initial capacity for at least 100 charge cycles.
